Preparing for the Holidays with Athens Commerce Laundromat

Welcome back to my blog, friends!

I am so excited because the holidays are finally creeping in and I can’t wait to have my family over for Thanksgiving. The Holidays are such a fun and special time, but I can definitely cause a lot of unwanted stress and anxiety. Adam and I have been working tirelessly to make sure that all of our deadlines are met before the end of the year, and I’ve even started buying some Christmas presents so that December would be a little bit easier on me. Now that we’re homeowners, were even more excited to decorate and prepare our home because we will be hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas this year for our extended family and friends, who are visiting us from out of town! Because we’re having our friends and family stay with us for a few weeks, our house has to be perfect. And when I say perfect, I mean sparkly clean perfect because my mom is definitely a perfectionist!

To prepare for their visit, I brought out all of the necessary bedding, pillowcases, kitchen towels, blankets and holiday clothing items that I had stored away in storage. I wanted everything I had brought out of storage to be extra clean, fresh, and ready to use, so I decided to reach out to Athens Commerce Laundromat because of some of the amazing services that they offer. When I found out about their wash-dry-fold service I was super excited. Basically, I was able to have my clothes washed, dried, and folded by one of their staff members, which was such a relief! They offer this service Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm, and Saturday-Sunday, 8am-7pm. They also offer a self-service option, open 24 hours, but I preferred the wash-dry-fold service because of my crazy work schedule – being able to pick up and go at my convenience was a life saver! Besides the fact that the service is super convenient, I love that they use brand detergent, stain lifters, and fabric softener’s. They separate your white in color clothes and wash them in cold water. All I had to do was drop off my items during their regular business hours, we weighed the clothing by the pound (comforters are a fixed rate), and then I got to choose my pickup day and time that worked best for me. They never combine your clothing with other customers clothing, they dry all your items on medium-heat along with dryer sheets, and all of the items are sorted, folded, and wrapped for your pick up day. But be careful, you have only 30 days to pick up your laundry (but I think that’s pretty fair)!

Before I dropped my clothes off I made sure that I didn’t have any money, jewelry, belts, or anything else in my laundry bag that might damage my personal items. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve left lipstick in my pockets and it has destroyed my clothes, so ladies – please look twice! Their laundry mat is friendly, clean, and they use state-of-the-art equipment which I really appreciated because not all laundromats can say that. They have all different sizes of washers as well as packed maximum amount of space in the dryers. Their coin-operated machines are at a low cost, they are reliable, and you can always ask one of their staff members to assist you. Also, they take their clean environment very seriously; if you take a peek at any of the reviews online, you’ll see how much the customers appreciate how clean and optimized their environment is.

In the past, I was always afraid to go to a laundromat by myself (especially at night) but you don’t have to worry about that here. They have in-person staff members, and most importantly, cutting edge security technology in place, which is a great way to reduce stress and fear to the customers and it has definitely made me feel more comfortable at their facilities. If you’re as busy as I am during the holidays, the self service laundry option is such a convenient option because you can do your laundry late at night!
